Shree Saibaba Ship Breaking Co. implements the best industry practices where waste management is concerned. To ensure and minimize any potential complications, an in-depth hazard analysis is done with respect to each ship beached on the plot to pro-actively avoid any unwanted incidents on yard.
In addition to the regular facilities available, Shree Saibaba Ship Breaking Co. has its own dedicated facilities for the removal of asbestos and ACMs material received from ship.
- Partition of the abatement area from the occupied area using plastic sheeting and plywood
- Asbestos removal workers are provided with comprehensive protective gear (clothing, hood etc.) against dangerous, elements, dust and any such other material
- Before bringing them out of the abatement area, the bags of debris are placed in secondary bags that are also marked ACMs
- Bags are placed in a secure area or in locked container before being transported to a secure landfill that accepts asbestos waste
- Special care is taken during each activity to prevent spillage of oil into ocean, bilge water and oil-spill kit is always available to deal with any mishap
